Most examples write to lists. Also, to see how to edit a jPart (which is a script inside a content editor webpart), you need to login in as 'demouser" to have the necessary permissions* [Update: April 05 2010, demouser account has been stripped of it's ability to edit jParts because too many people were using this power user's permissions to negatively alter or delete components, which the jPoint team would have to spend time to re-construct or restore from a backup. To see the affects of editing a webpart, watch this YouTube video (min 3:55) or download jPoint to experiment yourself.]. The ability to change the configuration of a script is one of the most powerful and novel features of the jPoint framework. Power users never have to see the code inside the content editor webpart in order to make configuration changes!

Remember, these jPart examples are only the beginning of the types of solutions the Sharepoint community can build. All the solutions that developers are creating out there can be wrapped into jPoint in order to leverage the configuration API of jPoint to create easy to deploy, easy to configure webpart solutions!
*Technical Note: The necessary permissions level for a user to edit a jPart configuration is a Designer. For the purposes of this Examples site, we have copied the permissions from the Contributor and added the Manage Lists permission. This allows the demouser to Edit Page on the list form pages and to write to the Webpart web service.
